Our Services

Birth Support

What does a Birth Doula do?

  1. A Doula offers emotional support by being there for you throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. A Doula is available to chat when you are feeling overwhelmed or need someone to talk to.

  2. Educational support is a Doula being available to answer your questions and provide information, so you aren't stuck googling and ending up more confused than when you started! During the prenatal visit, we go over the main options and important information you will need to know before birth, but also answer all your questions.

  3. Physical Support is the support offered during birth. The hip squeezes and counter pressure, but also the hand to hold and comforting touch.

Postpartum Support

What does a Postpartum Doula do?

  1. Increase parents’ confidence

  2. Help set up systems to make things easier: diapering stations, sanitation stations

  3. Help parents get some rest

  4. Baby feeding support

  5. Help parents be able to give their undivided attention to older children to reduce jealousy of a new baby

Physical support is also hands-on support during the postpartum period, helping you gain confidence as a parent. Sometimes you need an extra hand to ensure you are caring for yourself, and we are here to help with that, too.

Having a doula overnight can be incredibly beneficial for a new family in numerous ways:

    • Support for Nighttime Feeding: Overnight feedings can be particularly challenging for new parents, especially when sleep deprivation is a factor. A Doula can provide assistance with nighttime feedings, whether it's preparing bottles, helping with breastfeeding positions, or offering emotional support during those late-night hours.

    • Encouragement and Reassurance: Waking up in the middle of the night to tend to a newborn can feel isolating and overwhelming. Having a Doula by your side provides reassurance and encouragement, helping you feel less alone during those vulnerable moments.

    • Promotion of Restful Sleep: While you focus on caring for your baby during the night, a Doula can help promote restful sleep for both parents by handling other tasks such as diaper changes, soothing the baby back to sleep, and providing comfort measures to ensure everyone gets the rest they need.

    • Expert Guidance: Doulas are trained professionals with expertise in newborn care, including safe sleep practices, soothing techniques, and feeding support. Having a doula overnight means having access to valuable guidance and knowledge that can enhance your confidence as new parents.

    • Emotional Support: The postpartum period can be emotionally taxing, especially during the nighttime when exhaustion is at its peak. A Doula provides a compassionate presence, offering emotional support and validation for your feelings and experiences as you navigate the challenges of early parenthood.
